Meet the Artist: James Barnes

James Barnes is a devoted father, grandfather, and a proud military veteran residing in New Bern, NC.

With nearly three decades of artistic experience, his creative journey has transformed from traditional canvas paintings to a delightful surprise - cotton sheets! Over the last three to five years, he has embraced the use of ink, markers and dye, crafting spontaneous compositions one corner at a time. His love for his children, grandchildren and faith often inspire the stories intricately woven into his artwork.

James transforms everyday materials into deeply personal expressions of creativity. His work serves as a reminder that art knows no boundaries, and inspiration can emerge from the most unexpected sources.
