First Place

"Break Time"

Maria Morando

Notes from Judge: The palette is soft, warm and muted. Very much appreciate the textures of the feathers, the way the water is faded behind them, and reflections in the wet sand.

ree

Second Place

"OBX Egret"

Vicki Ross

Notes from Judge:

Love the vibrancy of color and the movement of the egret.

Golden hour nostalgia.

ree

Third Place

"Undaunted"

Neal Stetson

Notes from Judge:

Feeling sucked into the chaotic nature of these seagulls in action over the water.

ree

Honorable Mention

"Grasshopper"

J Ipock

Notes from Judge:

I appreciate the solid design and assemblage of the variety of textured metals. It's bold and fun.

ree

Honorable Mention

"Bird Shoals Grazing"

Jamison Ipock

Notes from Judge:

I feel sucked into the painting, I feel like when I stare at it enough I can hear the water and wind blowing in the grasses.

ree

Honorable Mention

"Marbled Godwood"

Richard Phillips

Notes from Judge:

Captured the beautiful intricate natural pattern of this bird in motion. I love how this artist successfully made this bird the star of the show.
