Holiday Show Reception will feature a new book launch

During the Holiday Show reception on November 15, 2025 between 4-6pm, join us for the Book Launch of Elizabeth and the Baby Otter, a new children’s hardcover picture book set amid the Cape Lookout National Seashore about the adventures of a little girl and a baby otter.  It was written by local author, Deborah Van Dyken, and illustrated by local Carolina Artist Gallery resident artist, Barbi Bailey-Smith. They will briefly speak about how they wrote, illustrated and published this book. Please come and get in touch with your inner otter.

In addition, meet Jamison Ipock, illustrator of one of Van Dyken’s earlier children’s books, The Flying Geese. Both books are on sale at the Carolina Artist Gallery. Barbi, Deborah and Jamison will be signing copies for you, just in time for holiday shopping, with a special gift for those young readers in your life!
