“LEGACY NC” MURAL FOR CARTERET COUNTY

Installation complete, reveal ceremony scheduled

Carteret County, NC, November 7, 2025 – Artist Max Dowdle is leading the State-wide

project “Legacy NC: 100 Murals in 100 Counties” . The Arts Council of Carteret County

sponsored the project locally, providing funding with additional contributions from an

anonymous private donor, and a grant from Morehead City. The completed mural -- #12 in

the series -- is located on the western-facing wall of the Carteret Community Theatre,

1311 Arendell Street in Morehead City.

The eight panels of the mural promote what makes Carteret County special: Arts & Leisure.
