“Tidings From the Shore” …Introducing work by local artist Janet Nickle in a solo

exhibition celebrating the beauty, rhythm, and spirit of coastal life featuring the landscapes, seascapes and wildlife that make this coast extraordinary!

I can finally be called a “local” after residing on the Crystal Coast for over 20 years after having relocated from the MD/DC area! I retired from a teaching career of 18 years but have always been first and foremost an artist! I have tried art making in a variety of mediums but have circled back around to pastels and oils.

It is with the unlimited range of hues of soft pastels I find I can come close to capturing the many colors reflected in the sky and water, sand and grasses, horses and dolphins …the kind of subject matter that artists never get tired of capturing on canvas or paper time and time again each interpretation imbued with a sense of exploration and renewed energy.
