About the event
This show will focus on those who rescue and those who are rescued. Inspiration might be a lonely shelter dog, a supportive friend, a heroic firefighter, our warming planet, or even a wilting plant. Artists may submit a total of 2 works. Submissions can be in any 2D or 3D media.
This show runs from April 27th through June 7th. Gallery hours for viewing are 11 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday - Saturday. Join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday April 27th , 4 - 6 PM.
New for this year we are opening the show entries to written expression (poetry, lyrics, essays, flash fiction, short stories, etc.). These should be limited to 1000 words. Written expressions should be delivered as a hard copy for display. Awards will be presented and the winner of the written work category will have their work read on April 27th at the opening reception.
Work must be submitted by April 20, 2024 and must be picked up on June 7-8, 2024. Contact CAG for additional information.

In keeping with the Rescue Me theme, we have chosen to feature three local charities:
The Golden Farm (cares for injured and disabled Shackleford Horses)
The Backpack Program (nutrition for children)
Carteret County Humane Society and Animal Shelter https://cchsshelter.com
Our hope is to raise much needed funds to help these charities with rising costs. Every donation makes a difference.
To facilitate our fundraising effort, we have developed “The Giving Tree” painted by Maria Morando, CAG Resident Artist, and co-director of this show. The tree will fill, we hope, with many individual donations represented by leaves designating the three charities. All funds raised will go directly to the charities.
