Beginner Level

Space is limited to 8 maximum and 6 minimum adults

All the tools, materials, supplies and essentials needed to set up and start you on your way to creating handmade paper will be covered during this morning workshop. Participants will engage through hands-on, step-by-step processes and techniques to making exciting sheets of paper using recycling paper and will be introduced to at least one if not two plant-based fibers. Each will work independently during this production style studio workshop to learn craft, create, tinker, play, explore and experiment while learning papermaking studio rhythms, etiquette and cooperation. A variety of techniques will be explored. Each will take home paper to frame or to use in a variety of ways.

Dress to roll up shirt sleeves as hands will be in water. Rubber aprons will be provided. Rubber boots are recommended to bring, but NOT CROCKS! (they slip and slide and are not secure on your feet). A short discussion will take place during a BYOB bagged lunch break.
