About the event

Finding the Inch of Genius with Internationally collected artist Ann Etheridge.

Have you ever asked yourself, where does abstract art come from? Or what inspired an artist to paint that abstract painting?

This inspirational workshop is for all levels, from the beginner to the experienced artist.

Ann will guide you through a playful process of connecting with the deep creative source within you. Learn to use creative tools and techniques while painting with vibrant colors that express your personal voice without rules and limitations.

What students will discover:

• Using a viewfinder tool to “find the inch of genius” in the freedom of making messy chaos.

• How you are more creative than you imagined.

• How expressing yourself in an abstract way is more accessible than you think.

• Experience a sense of wonder and awe when you learn to open to the creative genius inside yourself to discover the deeprooted creativity you once experienced as a child and have lost connection with as an adult.

• Demonstrations will be provided while incorporating the principle of art and design with nurturing guidance.

This workshop is all about inviting the inner artist out to play!

Come with an open heart and a willingness to explore with childlike wonder.

Artist Bio:

Ann Etheridge is a Salty Artist living by the sea in North Carolina, slinging paint and leading Intuitive Painting workshops. She moved south from Western Pennsylvania to the Carolinas working in Fortune 500 technology companies. Fifteen years in, Ann traded her power suit for a paintbrush. Her work is described by collectors as vibrant, colorful and energetic. Painting is her souls language.  When people stand in the presence of her paintings they are transformed, they are moved, they are healed. Ann feels the most ALIVE when creating in her water view studio overlooking the Intracoastal waterway of Bogue Sound, NC.

Workshop Participant Testimonial:

This workshop was so much fun!  Ann gave excellent instruction and kept the process moving at just the right pace. At the same time I felt free to be creative. I particularly enjoyed using the frame concept to select the ‘compositions’ that I liked based on design, value, a color. I’ve taken several workshops with Ann and continue to learn and explore new techniques which enable me to develop my own unique style. I am forever thankful to Ann for igniting my creativity and opening my eyes to painting from my heart.
