Kenny Higgins

I was born right here in Eastern North Carolina on Board USMC Air Base Cherry Point, proud son of Marine Corps veteran Gysgt Kenneth Higgins Sr, and the most amazing and supportive Mother one could ask for, Morehead City Native Barbara Higgins. After graduating high school, I spent the first part of my life in a full-time martial arts career, owning and teaching Taekwondo at my Blackbelt Academy in Bogue, NC.

Later in life my passion for cutting hair brought me to Craven Community College where I would go on to graduate from Barber School and move onto the newest chapter of my life cutting and styling hair. Both professions have brought Me to travels all over the country where I was able to visit so many amazing places as well as meet a great deal of inspiring and talented people. Now I find myself at the chapter of my life where I can finally sit back and truly devote myself to my true lifelong passion, which is art, the one place in life I find myself totally free.

Painting is truly the joy of my life and I have to thank the late great Bob Ross who Inspired me as kid and still does to this day to believe that “I could do it” and painting would bring me True happiness, well Mr. Ross was correct as I am now oil painting full time, and have never been more happy or proud to see the amazing beauty and joy I can bring to my canvas as I watch the colors and life come alive under my brush. Art brings out the exquisite beauty of this world and our never-ending imaginations as artist to create and capture those timeless moments.

As I continue to paint for the love and joy of doing it, I hold in my heart the idea that my paintings while they may not change the world, will spark the inspiration in the heart of a young artist who will.
