ARTIST STATEMENT

Art is a means of exploring my inner and outer worlds, capturing both the emotions I experience and my environment. Painting forces me to observe closely, revealing the interplay of light and shadow, nuances of color, and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. To paint is to engage on a deeper level. I employ a diverse range of media, and my style spans from realistic to abstract. The profound natural beauty and rich cultural history of my home are the ultimate sources of inspiration for my work.

BIO Jamison Ipock, a proud Beaufort native, has Carteret County roots extending to the 1700s. She grew up surrounded by a large loving extended family. After earning a BA in Biology and Secondary Education from Meredith College, Jamison married her high school sweetheart, J Ipock, and they chose to raise their two children in their beloved hometown. During her 27-year career in the Carteret County School System, Jamison won many Awards of Excellence including the Carteret County Teacher of the Year Award. Retirement allowed her to delve into her lifelong passion for art, traveling the world to visit top museums. Jamison enjoys participating in workshops, learning from her fellow CAG artists, and volunteering with the ACCC Special Hands Program. Her work may be seen on
