Marsh and the Sea inspirations for Deanna Grant
For the month of January 2019 the Cassie Howe Algeo Gallery will feature the colorful oil paintings of Morehead City resident Deanna Grant. This exhibit will be in the Gallery located in the hallway connecting the new and old lobbies of Carteret Health Care at 3500 Arendell St., Morehead City. As always these shows are free and open to the public at all times. These works of art are for sale and purchase can be arranged through the Carteret Health Care Foundation Office.
Deanna and her husband moved to Carteret County in the late 80’s from Winston-Salem. She didn’t start painting till they arrived here and took local lessons. Once hooked on painting she started taking workshops locally and abroad. All this hard work and dedication paid off in award winning work.
Her goal is to include the light, colors and shapes of the marshes and ocean in Carteret County. “Inspiration comes from the beauty of God’s incredible earth. When I paint I find myself in a place of quiet and reflection. It also brings a connection to my family and loved ones.”
Her wish is that her paintings can bring as much joy as painting it had for her.
