The ACCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage and support the development, promotion, and expansion of the arts in Carteret County. We are the Designated County Partner of the North Carolina Arts Council for Carteret County, the local Council responsible for managing and sub-granting Grassroots Arts Program funds for local arts programming. Through the Grassroots program, local nonprofit art associations obtain funding to bring the arts to the county. Grassroots Arts grantees in recent years have included: The American Music Festival, The History Place, Friends of the Down East Library, The Crystal Coast Choral Society, The Boys and Girls Club of Coastal Carolina, Broad Street Clinic, The Carteret Chorale, Carteret Community Theatre, The Sunshine Band, Carolina Artists Studio, Beaufort Sister Cities, and The Down East Folk Arts Society. What We Also Sponsor Adopt An Artist This program places the work of Arts Council member artists in a wide variety of local businesses and public offices and institutions. * Businesses and organizations get to display fine art and visual media on their premises, showing their support for local artists. * Artists get exposure in parts of the community that they ordinarily would never have an opportunity to do so. * Created in 2007, the program currently has the widespread participation of over 40 businesses/organizations and 30 artists. Arts Council of Carteret County employs no staff, therefore we do not have a physical office or location. All efforts of ACCC are accomplished through the work of our volunteer Board of Directors.
