Artist Bio

Marsha Deane creates her artwork by what she sees in the coastal environment where she lives. She paints seascapes, wildlife, and the flowers in her garden. Since moving to North Carolina 22 years ago and retiring, she has been able to once again pursue her passion for art. She is a contemporary realist, and strives to paint with passion and emotion. She works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor and, most recently, alcohol ink.

Marsha attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She is a member of the Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead City, where her art is on display. Her art also is displayed in local hotels and other public places in the area. She is a member of the Arts Council of Carteret County and has received "AWARD of EXCELLENCE" in 2019 at the Art from the Heart Show presented by ACCC and has received Honorable Mentions at several prior shows (2011 & 2016). In addition, she is a member of Arts for the Hospital.
She has studied with several local Artists. By working with other artists, she strives to learn new techniques and refine her art. “My art," she says, "is a growing process that never stops.” She resides in Pine Knoll Shores, with her husband, Wayne, and Molly their precious “Yorky.“
